CU Boulder’s East Campus is a space for innovation where new technologies are developed and sustainability is at the forefront. This 8-acre sustainability complex will serve as a place for education and research, food production, and community gathering. Through this design, I sought to create a space that serves Colorado at large in addition to the CU Boulder community.
Growing Boulder features a central complex containing ample indoor and outdoor growing space, a network of diverse outdoor classrooms, and various types of gathering and research spaces to support CU Boulder’s sustainability efforts and research endeavors. These programs are concentrated at the center of the site, allowing for the regrowth of a large native grassland around the complex.
